And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20
The gospel is the good news that Jesus has defeated sin, death, and evil through his own death and resurrection and is making all things new, even us. This news includes a personal confession of one's need for Christ's to save them from ourselves and we do that through repentance {a change one's mind} and belief {a genuine and all in trust that Christ's work is sufficient for our sin debt}. In a moment and throughout our lives the LORD is simultaneously saving and sending us by the power of His Spirit. A disciple then is one who walks with God and others, welcoming those far from him. It is a daily depending, and kingdom seeking new life! The new life is one of spiritual adoption. Meaning we have brothers and sister, a forever family to be a part of. So we walk together, that is called discipleship. Discipleship is the process of surrendering all of life to the presence and lordship of Jesus. This process is done prayerfully and creatively
