The Gospel for Yourself
What if the person who most needs to hear the gospel this week is you?
Not because you're unsaved. Not because your faith isn't genuine. But because life has a way of pulling our eyes off Jesus and onto everything else and the gospel frees us to admit it and ask for help. Maybe the season we are in that God has sent us into is not just for the people in our lives, but for us.
Some of us wake up and immediately think about our finances. Others think about our children, our health, our reputation, our loneliness, or the uncertainty of the future. Before our feet hit the floor, our hearts are already preaching a message to us.
Every day our fears, desires, disappointments, and circumstances preach to us. The question is whether we'll let those voices or actions shape our hearts or whether we'll keep our eyes on Jesus or return to Jesus and let His Word shape us instead.
The goal of gospel fluency is not to become an expert on yourself. It is to treasure Christ so deeply that you run to Him before you run anywhere else and help others do the same.
