What is at the bottom [Heart] of a question?

Today's passage continues Jesus' counter-cultural teachings that mark His upside-down kingdom—where the first are last, and the last are first (Mark 9:35; 10:31).

There are no dumb questions to ask a good rabbi. There is a reason for them. Whether we are seeking to understand or are they to undermine. We hope the answers to the questions we ask will confirm our understanding and help us feel right, good, secure, or comforted. 

Is our ultimate authority Jesus, or is it something else? Let us evaluate whether we approach God with child-like faith or rely on our own understanding and righteousness.
