Acts 3:1-11

Big Idea: Jesus can do what no one else can do.

For more than forty years this man had to be carried. Daily. Someone carried him through the city and placed him at the gate. He sat there looking from person to person hoping somebody would give him enough to make it through another day.

Peter didn't have silver or gold. But Peter knew what he did have: “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

Peter reached down and immediately the feet and ankles that had never carried this man became strong. For the first time in his life nobody had to carry him home.

He didn't get his new legs and run away from God. He walked into the temple worshipping. Walking and leaping and praising God. Everybody who had known him before looked at his life and was filled with wonder and amazement. Peter was ready to tell them who did it.

Jesus.

Maybe you walked in here this morning feeling like the man at the gate. You're hurting. You're tired. You're dependent. You're asking for something. Jesus sees you. Look to Him.
